In the last few years an onslaught
of granite fabricators have opened for business. Every
corner of the street seems to have a fabricator that
advertises unrealistic pricing and promises impossible lead
times. As a consumer you hold the key, remember - you sign
the check! Do your homework and research the most reputable
and professional fabricators that you can find. When
researching potential countertop companies, don't be afraid
to ask for recent references, ask for 5 references from the
last 10 days. If a company can't produce a list of recent
satisfied customers, then move on. The Better Business
Bureau is also a great way to research potential granite
suppliers. A fabricator with poor customer satisfaction will
certainly reflect in its BBB rating.
Pricing is always a Biggie....everyday we receive phone calls asking
"what we charge per square foot for granite?" Do not choose
a fabricator based on what they charge per square foot! All
reputable granite suppliers should be within a couple
hundred dollars of each other on a typical kitchen. Choose
you fabricator based on their quality and reputation, not on
a square footage price! |
